Mil Weather

Privacy Policy

Effective 25 July 2026

Mil Weather is a weather and illumination planning tool. It has no accounts, no sign-in, and no servers of its own. This policy explains what the app touches and what it does not.

The short version: Mil Weather collects nothing about you. There is no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking. Everything you enter stays on your device.

Location

If you tap the GPS button, the app asks iOS for your current position. Your coordinates are used to retrieve forecast, tide, illumination, and terrain data for that point.

Coordinates are sent to the public data services listed below solely to request that data. They are not stored by the developer, not transmitted anywhere else, and not associated with you or your device.

You can decline the location permission and still use every feature by entering a town, a latitude/longitude pair, or an MGRS grid manually.

Data stored on your device

Saved missions and preferences are written to local storage on your device. They are not uploaded, backed up to the developer, or readable by anyone else. Deleting the app deletes them.

Third-party data services

To return live conditions, the app queries these public services over HTTPS:

Each request carries only the coordinates or place name needed to answer it. These services operate under their own privacy policies and may log requests as any web service does.

What the app does not do

Children

Mil Weather is a general-purpose utility. It is not directed at children and collects no information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
