Including your device model, iOS version, and the grid or town you were querying makes problems much faster to track down.
Common questions
- The GPS button isn't working.
- Check Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Mil Weather and confirm access is set to "While Using the App." A first GPS fix indoors can take up to a minute.
- Some fields are blank.
- Live data comes from public weather services that occasionally omit values for a given grid point, and coverage is strongest inside the United States. Try a nearby location, or check back — gridded forecasts refresh hourly.
- Does it work without a signal?
- Coordinate conversion, illumination calculations, density altitude, dew point, wind chill, and movement rate estimates all run on-device and work offline. Live forecast, tide, and river data need a connection.
- How accurate is the MGRS conversion?
- Grid conversion uses full UTM projection math rather than an approximation, and is accurate to one meter within the standard MGRS zone bounds.
- Is my data sent anywhere?
- No. Saved missions stay on your device, and there are no accounts, analytics, or tracking. See the privacy policy.
A note on use
Mil Weather is a planning aid built on public forecast data. Forecasts are estimates. Verify anything that matters against your official sources before it drives a decision.
